What is a NOBO hike?
NOBO (NO-bow) n, adj, adv.
1. a way to hike a long trail by starting at the south end, then hiking continuously northbound until completed
Fabuloso is platinum-blazing NOBO.
Edna started hiking the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mt Georgia, is heading northbound, is staying in as many hotels and B&B's as she can, then will finish at Mt Katahdin Maine.
Pros/Cons of a NOBO Hike:
PROS
It's the pure end-to-end thru-hike.
If you prefer to do so, you'll likely be around others.
Nearly all Appalachian Trail hostels, shuttles, and resupply are open.
CONS
At times, even if you'd prefer not to, you'll likely be around others.
The weather is what it is. It'll likely be cold in the beginning, then a bit sweaty in the middle.
