Historic Pen Mar Park (1877 - 1943)
In the late 1800's and early 1900's, the Pen Mar Express brought thousands of tourists on the scenic journey out to Pen Mar Park to ride rides, listen to music, and dance in the pavilion. The decline of train travel hastened its demise -- WWII finished it off. Today, however, it thrives as a fantastic public park.
Crouts Hotel (1915 - 1932)
On the ground where Zero Day Stay stands today used to sit Crouts Hotel. Known for its $0.50 dinners and indoor skating rink, Crouts was one of many hotels in Pen Mar catering to the flood of tourists arriving in Pen Mar Village each weekend.
